All first-year freshmen are required to live on campus unless they live within a 25-mile radius of the university. Scholarship students must identify as being part of a traditionally underrepresented population (African American/Black, Hispanic/Latino, Alaskan Native or American Indian, Asian American, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander, or Multiracial) OR have participated in a TRIO program. Regent’s Traditional Campus Program offers freshmen a residential experience. Kick off your 9th grade year and start your journey as a Wildcat Wednesday August 3, 8:00AM-5:00PM. Applicants may be considered without an ACT/SAT score. Students are required to apply for the following scholarships through the UNI Scholarship Application. Minimum enrollment requirement is 3 credits. Students who do not meet the ACT or GPA criteria may be considered if they have a Regents Admissions Index (RAI) score of 290 or higher.Have an ACT composite score of 23 or higher, (SAT combined EWR+M of 1140 or higher), OR a 3.7 GPA.Have an ethnic or racial status of African American/Black, Hispanic/Latino, Alaskan Native or American Indian, Asian, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander.Must be an Iowa resident entering UNI directly from high school.Many colleges include class participation during Welcome Week, so be mindful of this when planning your time Community. Plan family vacations, work schedules, and housing leases (if living off-campus) with Welcome Week in mind. $16,000 ($4,000 per year for four years) Welcome Week takes place directly before fall classes begin, so plan accordingly.
